Obituary: Leo Albert (June) Roberts, 86, Metcalfe Co., KY

Mr. Roberts was a respected North Metcalfe Co., KY, farmer. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of Pleasant Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church

Leo Albert "June" Roberts age 86 of Center, KY, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at T.J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 2pmCT, Friday, June 11, 2010, at Pleasant Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church with burial in the Bowles Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 10, 2010, from 4pm-8pmCT, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton. KY, and after 10amCT, Friday, June 11, 2010 at the church.

He was the son of the late Leo Young Roberts and Ruby Franklin Roberts.

He was a farmer and World War II veteran. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Cumberland Presbyterian Church.He is survived by the following:
  • His wife: Verneda Bowles Roberts.

  • Two daughters: Claudette (Robert) Wilcoxson of Center and Nora Katherine (Barry) Gilley of Edmonton, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Jennifer Yanchar, Jay Vibbert, Daniel Gilley, Rachel Gilley, Denise Combs and Jonathan Wilcoxson

  • Five great grandchildren: Tatum, Zachary, Dylan, Riley and Parker
