57th Crusade for Children finale this weekend!

The Crusade has raised, and returned to Adair County dollar-for-dollar $879,833.65 during its history. This article is a reminder to have checks ready to drop in buckets this Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5, 2010

The 57th Annual WHAS Crusade for Children is this weekend, local firemen will be manning roadblocks at the following locations:


  • Jamestown Street
  • Campbellsville Street
  • and at the new Wal Mart
Firemen will be at these locations from 3pm-8pmCT on Friday, June 4, 2010, and 8am-4pmCT on Saturday, June 5, 2010.

This is the 47th year Columbia-Adair County Fire Departments have been collecting money for the crusade and since 1963 have collected $879,833.65.
2009 Crusade Total
  • Columbia-Adair County Fire Dept. - 26,930.23
  • Breeding Area Fire Dept. - 1,230.92
  • Knifley Area Fire Dept. - 1,742.42
    2009 Adair County Total - 29,903.57
There will be a live remote at 6pmCT at Adair Elementary School, 870 Indian DR, which will be aired on WBKO.

You're in good company when you drop cash or a Big Check in the Columbia-Adair County Fireman's buckets at roadblocks this Friday and Saturday, June 4 and 5, 2010. Doing so will let you join Haydon Bennett and his sister, Addie, Columbia, KY who stopped on Sunday, May 30, 2010, to give at the station manned by Chairman Brandon Lewis.
