The First Memorial Day Trade Day will be held in Gradyville, KY on Monday, May 31, 2010, starting at around 8amCT and continuing as long traders remain, in the field across the road from Mast Horseshoeing, 1432 Gradyville Country Club RD, Gradyville, KY.

The event will honor one of South Central Kentucky's most beloved livestock traders, Harold Mouser. "He was as good a friend as many of us ever had," Vernon Mast, the organizer of the event said. "I've wanted to do this a long time. I just wish I could have done it when he could have been here."

Harold Mouser died April 17, 2010, at the age of 84 years.

"People can bring anything they want to trade or sell," Mr. Mast said. "We already have a number of mules scheduled to be here," and added, "They can bring equipment, large and small animals, tools - you name it, and we'll try to accomodate the seller."

Mr. Mast encouraged imagination. "Bring anything," he said. "Horses, rabbits, dogs, chickens, ducks, yard sale items. You name it, you bring it." And he's already got guinea fowl, and geese."

There is no fee for the event, he said. Sellers and traders can just show up, he said.

Concessions will be available.
