Obituary: Mrs. Cathleen Houk Milby, 85 Columbia, KY

She was a native of Green Co., KY, with many relatives in Adair Co., KY. She was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church in Green Co., and will be laid ot rest in the cemetery by the church.

Mrs. Cathleen Ruby Houk Milby of Columbia, KY, departed this life on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Cathleen Ruby Houk Milby will be conducted at 10amCT, Saturday, May 29, 2010 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Greasy Creek Cemetery. Bro. Wilburn Bonta will be officiating. Visitation is requested from 4:30pm to 9pmCT, Friday, May 28, 2010, at the Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home and after 7amCT, Saturday, May 29, 2010, until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Joey Houk, Tommy Ray Pruitt, Kirby Pruitt, Larry Houk, Lester Houk, and Ryan Fuller.

Mrs. Cathleen Ruby Houk, Green Co. native (1925-2010)

Mrs. Cathleen Ruby Houk Milby of Columbia, KY, the daughter of the late Lawrence Houk and Nellie Thompson Houk, was born on Sunday February 8, 1925 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at the Summit Manor Nursing Home in Columbia, Adair Co., KY. She was 85 years, three months and 17 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greasy Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to David Carlisle Milby on December 24, 1947 who preceded her in death on April 29, 1996.

Survivors include the following:
  • A daughter and son-in-law: Charlotte and Glenn Richard of Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Karen Fuller and her husband Ryan of Columbia, KY, and Jeff Richard and his wife Teresa of Columbia, KY

  • A brother: Floyd Houk of Greensburg, KY

  • A special caregiver: Lori Hicks of Campbellsville, KY

  • Eight grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Milby was also preceded in death by four brothers and a sister: Ruppert Houk, John Houk, Duluth Big Boy Houk, Ray Houk and Magaline Williams.The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
