The Adair County Garden Club's "Day in the Garden," will be held from 9am-2pmCT, Saturday, May 22, 2010, at Tucker Station, 1535 Bull Run Rd. in Columbia, KY , will be a festival for all gardeners, beginners and experts alike. The gathering is free and open to everyone.

In addition to demonstrations on how to build a "lasagna garden," there will be lessons on composting your kitchen and yard waste to create gardening's black gold, crafting painted gourds, making baskets out of creekside willows and honeysuckle, and more.

Other high points of a "Day in the Garden" will be a plant sale which will include indoor as well as garden plants, a raffle of a hand-painted tub filled with over $200 worth of garden goods and an auction of garden-related donations and hand-crafted items from area businesses and garden club members.

A "Day in the Garden" is the Adair County Garden Club's primary fundraiser. All proceeds from the event will be put back into the community in the form of flowers around the Courthouse Square, upkeep of the Trabue House Rose Garden, flowers at the library, and other civic activities.
