Adair County Judicial Center Dedication at 10amCT

Preliminary ceremonies at Historic Courthouse, 500 Public Square, Columbia, KY, at 9:30amCT this morning, immediately preceding the dedication.

Kentucky Chief Justice of Kentucky John Minton will speak and Adair County Judge Executive will preside at dedication ceremonies for Adair County's new 37,232 s.f. courthouse, 201 Campbellsville ST, this morning, Thursday, May 20, 2010, at 10amCT.

Preliminary activities will start at 9:30amCT, at the Historic Courthouse.



At the 9:30amCT event, Adair County Historian Mike Watson will make a presentation about the long history of the landmark building, and Richard Phelps be present as a re-enactor of the first county court clerk, William Caldwell.

At the the 10amCT program at 201 Campbellsville ST, this morning will be the following:
  • Rev. Terry White, pastor of Columbia Christian Church, will give the invocation

  • Vietnam War Veteran Joe Hare of the Columbia VFW Post 6097 will lead the pledge of allegiance

  • The Adair County Future Farmers will present the colors

  • The nationally acclaimed Adair County High School Band will play "My Old Kentucky Home."

  • The Grand Lodge Ceremony

  • The Passing of Justice Ceremony

  • Special Music: Mr. Erwin Heinrich Lepiarczyk II will perform "Let There Be Peace On Earth"
  • Recognition of Special Guests: by Adair County Circuit Court Clerk Dennis Loy

  • Remarks:
    by Sue Stivers, Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce. Kentucky Supreme Court Justice Daniel J. Venters. and Vice Chief Regional District Judge Michael Loy

  • DEDICATION ADDRESS: by Chief Justice of Kentucky John D. Minton, Jr.

  • Special music: First Baptist Church Choir, Columbia, KY

  • Closing Remarks: Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton

  • Benediction: By Joe Payne, pastor, Eunice Church of God

  • Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies: Assemblage of Dignataries
A very large crowd is expected for the event.
