Obituary: Catherine Graves, 87, Adair Co., KY

Mrs. Graves was a head of a large, respected Adair Co., KY family. She leaves 29 direct living descendants. One son, former Columbia City Councillor Joe Louis Graves, preceded her in death. She was a member of the Second Christian Church, Columbia, KY, and retired from Saints Mary & Elizabeth Hospital after a 23 year career there

Catherine Graves, 87, Louisville, KY, formerly of Adair Co., KY, died Friday, May 14, 2010, at 2:45pm at Norton's Hospital in Louisville, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, May 18, 2010, at 1pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Kenny Carter officiating. Burial will be in the Dudley Cemetery, 2088 Milltown Church RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 11amCT, Tuesday, May 18, 2010.



Catherine Graves, Adair Co., KY (1923-2010)

Catherine Graves was the daughter of the late Pearl Walker. She was born January 17, 1923 and died in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 87 years, 3 months, and 27 days.

She was a member of the Second Christian Church, Columbia, KY, and was employed by Saints Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY, for 23 years.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two sons: Edwin Graves and wenzell Graves, both of Louisville, KY

  • Ten grandchildren

  • Seventeen great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son, former Columbia City Councillor Joe Louis Graves.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
