The Adair Co. Middle School Beta club conducted a fundraiser the last two weeks in March for Pennies for Patients, and the total raised, $5,007.39, was the most of any Pennies for Patients Drive in the State of Kentucky.

Thursday, May 13, 2010, Sheila Gustafson, the director of the Northern Kentucky and Southern Indiana chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, , presented our school with a plaque for raising the most money in Kentucky for Pennies for Patient.

The Beta club raised this money by involving the entire school in various fundraising activities.

Not only were we surprised to be the top school in the state, but were honored to have a child with luekemia to visit our school during the presentation.

Bradley Wilson is familiar to many in our community. He is the son of Mark and Stacey Durham Wilson and the grandson of Hunter and Joyce Durham.

Bradley was diagnosed with leukemia last fall. He is currently taking chemotherapy and in remission.

Bradley and his mother shared with the student body how this disease has changed his life.

Denise Grant and Cindy Walker are the Beta sponsors. We are extremely proud of our students.
