Flooding May 2, 2010:
BAVFD assists in Metcalfe Co. swift water rescue


Rescue of driver near Adair/Metcalfe Co. line on KY 80 was joint effort of Metcalfe County Fire/Rescue, Adair SAR, and the Breeding Fire Department

The Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department was requested by the Edmonton-Metcalfe County Fire / Rescue at 12:10pmCT, May 2, 2010, for a vehicle that was possibly washed off roadway, near the Adair/Metcalfe County Line on Highway West 80.



The Breeding Area Volunteer Fire Department along with members of the Metcalfe County Fire / Rescue and the Adair County Search and Rescue was able to successfully rescue the victim from a tree.

The victim's car was washed off the roadway due to high water and the victim was able to swim to a tree, where the rescuers found him. The victim was there for more than an hour.

The Breeding A.V.F.D. reminds everyone to not cross any roadways that are flooded with water.
