Obituary: Robert V. Collins, 79, Adair Co., KY

He was a member of a large, respected Bull Run area family, a lifetime resident of Adair Co., KY. and a farmer

Robert V. Collins, 79, Columbia, KY, died Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 8amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab.

The funeral service will be Sunday, May 2, 2010, at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Martin and Bro. Danny Bailey officiating. Burial will be in the Collins Family Cemetery, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the funeral home.



Robert V. Collins, Adair Co., KY (1930-2010)

He was a son of the late Millard V. and Nona McFarland Collins. He was born in Adair Co., KY, Friday, December 19, 1930, and died Thursday, April 29, 2010, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 79 years, 4 months, and 10 days.

Mr. Collins was a farmer.

He is survived by the following:
  • One brother: James S. and his wife, Bobbie Nell Collins, Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Mattie Collins, Columbia, KY

  • Sixteen nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joe N. Collins, Sr. and his wife Ruth Wilma; WIllie Colins and his wife Mae, and Preston W. Collins and his wife Geoise; two half-brothers, Buck and Tate Collins; and a half sister, Marie Colliins.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
