He was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom, Campbellsville, KY, and Jane Todd Hospital, Greensburg, KY

Alvin Spurling, 77, Campbellsville, KY, died at 7:36pmET, Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in Campbellsville, KY.

Graveside services will be Thursday, April 29, 2010, at 1pmET/Noon CT, at Mt. Gilboa Baptist Church Cemetery, Campbellsville, KY, by Rev. Jim Collison. Visitation will be after 11amET/10amCT, Thursday April 29, 2010, at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville, KY.


Pallbearers: Austin Gribbins, Lawrence Mattingly, Lawrence Mattingly, Jr.; and Daniel Penrod.

Alvin Spurling, Taylor Co., KY (1933 - 2010)

Alvin Spurling of Campbellsville, KY, son of the late William Spurling and Rhoda Wade Spurling, was born in Taylor County, KY, Monday, April 24, 1933. He died at 7:36pmET, Tuesday, April 27, 2010 in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 77 years, and 3 days.

He was a former employee of Fruit of the Loom, Chappells Dairy and Jane Todd Hospital.

He is survived by the following:
  • One son and one daughter: Keith Spurling and Pam Gribbins and husband, Eric of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Kasey Spurling of Greensburg, KY; andWhitney Spurling, Litchia Gribbins, Kaitlin Gribbins and Austin Gribbins, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Five great-grandchildren: Jaelyn Hayden, Drew Hayden, Leah Cook, Jaice Gribbins and Olivia Penrod; sister, Ophelia Hunt, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Special friend: Ruth Davis, of Campbellsville, KY

  • and many other relatives and friends
He was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Spurling, and two sisters in infancy.

The family requests expressions of sympathy be donations to funeral expenses and may be made at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.
