LWC Concert/Jazz Band Spring Concert, Thursday, April 29, 2010 Major music even will feature jazz from Big Band, Swing Era. Concert portion will be contemporary music. Band is under the direction of Mr. Tim Allen, former ACHS band director Story will follow with roster of performersNews from Lindsey Wilson College The Lindsey Wilson College Concert and Jazz Band will present a Spring Concert this Thursday, April 29 at 7:00pmCT at Biggers Sports Arena, 360 Spickard DR, Columbia, KY, on the campus of Lindsey Wilson College. The concert is free and open to the public. =The band program is under the direction of Tim Allen, former Adair County High School band director. The concert portion is music all written by contemporary composers, all of whom have been composing just in the last 20 years. Three of the four concert tunes are written by Richard L. Saucedo, who is a high school band director in Carmel, IN. The jazz portion, on the other hand, is from the big band and swing era of the 30's and 40's. The band will be performing three classic standards: "Kidney Stew Blues" by Eddie "Clean Head" Vinson, "Undecided by Charles Shavers, and the ever-popular "In the Mood" by Joe Garland.The concert should have something for everyone to enjoy.
