Jim Leigh: A great advocate for kids

About: Scenic Adair Co KY Leigh Monument

By Vicky Compton

I was there for the dedication of Jim's memorial one beautiful spring day.

Our families worked together coaching Little League Basketball at Sparksville and shared many happy times together.

Jim loved those kids so much and truly wanted them to excel in life as well as sports!

He taught them so much and they worked so hard for him. The community lost a great friend and the kids a great advocate.

Thanks for posting this picture!

Jim's memory lives on in many hearts! -Vicky Compton

Scenic Adair Co., KY: James K.Leigh Monument

2010-04-25 - Photo by Ed Waggener. Greenbriar Ridge RD, Adair Co., KY
One of Adair County's most unusual monuments is slightly hidden from view on the north side of Greenbriar RD, at approximately the 2.5 milepoint. It is a tribute to a beloved artist resident of the area, James Kenneth Leigh, Jr. (November 13, 1960 - July 19, 1993) and is not the final resting place of the Mr. Leigh. It is approximately 15' x 15' x 15' and approximately 4' tall at the apex, not including the steel cross.
