Saturday collision on KY 80 east sends 3 to hospitals By Tpr. Wm. Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY COLUMBIA, KY - Trooper Bradly Stotts of Kentucky State Police Post 15 is investigating a collision that occurred at 5:35pmCT, Saturday, April 23, 2010, on East KY 80. Merlin Huff, age 45 of Columbia was operating a 2004 Blue Dodge pickup Westbound on KY80, when he dropped off the right shoulder of the road, negotiated out of a ditch, and struck a 2006 red Dodge Pickup operated by Teddy Cain, age 45, of Russell Springs, KY in the rear. Cain subsequently left the left side of the roadway striking a rock ledge before coming to a final rest in the westbound lane. Merlin Huff was not belted and was transported by EMS to the Russell County Hospital, and then transported to UK for treatment. Teddy Cain as well as a passenger Vicky Cain, age 45, of Russell Springs, KY, both belted, were transported to Westlake Regional Hospital and then to U of L. Trooper Stotts was assisted at the scene by KSP Trooper Kenny Perkins, Deputy Aaron Rainwater, Adair and Russell County fire and EMS.
