News About: How Chance Got Its Name Photo of Last Chance Store, by Betty Sue Jasper, March 20, 2007 By Jim From the Adair County News, July 13, 1904: "Chance" is the name of the new postoffice in Adair county. It is located on Harvey Ridge, and Henry C. Barden is the postmaster.Mr. Bardin's name is spelled in the transcription as it was found in the original article. -Jim Thanks. It has come to mind that we do not have a photo in our archives of the original Chance, KY post office building at the intersection of KY 768 and KY 1952, two miles northwest of the current location of the Last Chance building on Walnut Grove RD. If anyone has stories and about that location we would appreciate receiving them. -Ed Waggener This story was posted on 2010-04-25 01:02:08
