Overcorrection a factor in Russell Springs, KY crash Driver treated and released after vehicle hits tree near Adair - Russell Co., KY line on KY 80 between Columbia and Russell Springs, Ky. By Tpr. Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY Trooper Bryan Shepard is investigating a vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 6:45pmCT, Wednesday, April 14, 2010, on Hwy 80 approximately 4 miles east of Russell Springs, KY. Seventeen year old Terry L. Smith, of Russell Springs, KY, was operating a 2002 Ford westbound on KY 80. Smith lost control of the vehicle and ran off the roadway, overcorrected, and struck a tree. Smith was belted and was transported to the Russell County Hospital by personal vehicle, where he was treated and released.
