Adair Co. Birdwatchers meet April 19, 2010

The next Adair County Bird Watchers meeting is 6 pm CT, Monday, April 19, 2010at the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service, 409 Fairground ST, Columbia, KY..

By Wendy Burt

What a beautiful day (again) and what a great time to be out watching birds (again).

This morning, in addition to my "regulars," for the first time this season I saw a green heron, a blue-gray gnatcatcher and heard a Maryland yellowthroat and prairie warbler. So the birds really are continuing on their great migration.

The next Adair County Bird Watchers meeting is 6 pm CDT, Monday, April 19, 2010at the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service, 409 Fairground ST, Columbia, KY.

Brian Gray from the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, will join us to talk about bird watching in Kentucky. I expect he'll share several "secrets" about bird watching in this area as he manages the 20,000 acre Green River Lake Wildlife Management Area.

I look forward to seeing you Monday evening and, as usual, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions. -Wendy Butler Burt. Phone (270) 378-3197
