Jail raises funds for LWC program By Duane Bonifer News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - Lindsey Wilson College President William T. Luckey Jr. was taken to jail on Wednesday morning. But it was for a good cause. Luckey was among more than a dozen Lindsey Wilson faculty and staff members who were taken to the "Cranmer Slammer" in the college's Roberta D. Cranmer Dining & Conference Center. Members of the LWC community paid to put a faculty or staff member in jail, and faculty and staff could also make a contribution to have their sentence suspended. Luckey was put in jail by LWC Director of Nursing Jo Ann Wever in celebration of her program's first nursing class, which will be announced later this spring. Wever made a $100 contribution to the class. The event was a fund-raiser by the Lindsey Wilson Adventure Recreation class, which is taught by Assistant Professor of Recreation, Tourism and Sport Management Tricia M. Day. The class' students will use the money raised to fund a couple of field trips. This story was posted on 2010-04-07 14:30:27
