CJE Ann Melton declares April Redbud Month in Adair Co., KY

By Maggie Bill
News for Tour South and East Kentucky

Somerset, KY - Adair County Judge Executive Ann Melton has declared April as Redbud Month in Adair County. Redbud Month was created in 2004 by Tour South and East Kentucky (TOUR SEKY) in order to start the tourist season in spring. Since then more than 400,000 redbud seedlings have been given away across the 47-county region. Schools, non-profit organizations and community leaders have all participated in the redbud seedling giveaways and plantings.

The Tour South and East Kentucky Board of Directors has declared April as Redbud Month across Southern and Eastern Kentucky every year since 2004. In conjunction with the Board of Directors, TOUR SEKY invited local County Judge Executives, including Judge Melton, to sign a Redbud Proclamation declaring April as Redbud Month in their respective county.
