Ancient Sport Of Falconry this weekend on KET 1 By Scott Moore News from Kentucky Department of Fish & WildlifeWe feature falconry and paddlefish on "Kentucky Afield" television this weekend, April 3 and 4, 2010. Hunting game with a bird of prey stirs our imagination. The unlikely partnership of man and raptor has been practiced for thousands of years. Dan Denham and Cactus, his red-tailed hawk, share a unique relationship. Host Tim Farmer joins the pair in Oldham County for some rabbit hunting. Also on the show is the seldom-seen sport of snagging for paddlefish. Catching fish without the use of bait is a passion of Ryan Bunch and Joe LeMarble. We head to Meldahl Dam on the Ohio River for the action. Finally, is anyone hungry? People around Hebron know Mr. Herb's family restaurant for its catfish. However, Farmer declares that their stuffed-trout will melt in your mouth. We have the recipe. "Kentucky Afield" is a production of the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources. It is the longest continuously running outdoor television show in the nation. The program airs at 8:30pmET/7:30pmCT. Saturdays, and repeats at 4pmET/3pmCT, Sundays on KET 1.
