Obituary: Dolly Andrew, 85, Adair Co., KY

Mrs. Andrew was a member of a respected Adair Co. family. She was a longtime member of the Columbia Church of the Nazarene. She was a childcare provider. Her marriage to Tom Dale Andrew had endured over 60 years.

Dolly Andrew age 85 years of Columbia, KY passed away Sunday, March 28, 2010, at 6:10amCT at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center after an illness.

The funeral service Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at 1pmCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Scott Ezell officiating. Interment will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation after 4pmCT, Monday, March 29, 2010. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Monday, March 29, 2010.


Dolly Andrew, Adair Co., KY (1924-2010)

She was the daughter of the late Wellie Vernon and Susie Maudie Blair Grant. She was born on Sunday, October 26, 1924, and died in Columbia, Adair Co., KY on March 28, 2010, at the age of 85 years, 5 months, and 2 days.

She was the faithful wife of Tom Dale Andrew for 60 years. She was a long time member of the Columbia Church of the Nazarene, a child care provider for 60+ years and a homemaker.Besides her husband, she is survived by the following:
  • One daughter: Connie DeVore and husband Lonnie of Columbia, KY

  • One granddaughter: Nicole Legg and husband Derek

  • One grandson: Nick DeVore and his special friend Chasity Cowan

  • Three sisters: Mae Hadley of Jamestown, KY, Fay Bradshaw of Glensfork, KY, and Mary Hadley of Cundiff, KY

  • Two brothers: Wellie Paul Grant of Lexington, KY and Jack Grant of Russell Springs, KY

  • Several nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers: Dorothy Gibson, Dimple Grant, Robert S. Grant and Ray Grant.

Memorials are suggested to the Columbia Church of the Nazarene and may be made at the funeral home, Stotts-Phelps-McQueary, which is in charge of arrangements.
