Obituary: Mrs. Clarice Edna Young White, 98

Mrs. Young was a member of a respected Adair County family. She was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and loyal to Shiloh Christian Church. She was retired from A & P Foods in Louisville, KY after a 31 year career there.

Mrs. Clarice Edna Young White, 98, Columbia, KY, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at 12:05amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service for Mrs. Clarice Edna Young White will be Sunday, March 28, 2010 at 3:30pm CST at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Raymond Martin and Bro. Steve Conover officiating. Burial will be in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be after 9amCT, Sunday morning, March 28, 2010 at the funeral home.



Mr. Clarice Edna Young White, 98, Adair Co, KY

Mrs. Clarice Edna Young White, age 98 years 7 months passed away Friday, March 25, 2010 at 12:05amCT, at Summit Manor Health & Rehab Center, Columbia, KY.

She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Mary Tucker Young. She was born Sunday, August 20, 1911, and died Friday, March 25, 2010, in Columbia, Adair Co., KY, at the age of 98 years, 7 months, and 6 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Loren White; one sister Alma Young Reeves, brother-in-law Buford Reeves, and two nephews Earl Holt and Paul Reeves.

She was retired from A & P Foods in Louisville after 31 years of service, at which time she and her husband moved back to their native Adair County, she was an avid pet lover, gardener and loved to cook. She was a member of the Columbia Christian Church and was loyal to Shiloh Christian Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four nephews: Glenn Reeves of Glasgow, KY, and Louis, Danny and Dennis Reeves of Columbia, KY

  • Three nieces: Phyllis Reeves, of Columbia, KY; Mary Coffey of Glasgow, KY, and Carol Shaul of Jackson,TN

  • Several great and great-great nieces and nephews, to all of whom she was very special
