Detrick Brigg's MSU Track & Field Performer of the Week By Chris Megginson News from Campbellsville University Sports Information Campbellsville University junior Detrick Briggs is the Mid-South Conference Men's Track & Field Performer of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. Briggs scored a meet-best 26 points at the Small College Invitational hosted by Berea (KY) College on Saturday to earn his first conference weekly honor of the season and the first of his career. The Louisville native captured the men's long and triple jump and finished fourth in the 400-meter hurdles. Briggs won the long jump with a leap of 20 feet and 8 inches (6.32 meters) and the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet and 11 inches to earn 10 points in each event. In the 400-meter hurdles, Briggs finished with a time of 1:03.87 to earn six points. Campbellsville finished third overall with 112 points. This story was posted on 2010-03-24 09:57:44
