NASHVILLE, TN - The Lindsey Wilson College softball team swept a doubleheader tonight at host Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University.

Lindsey Wilson (17-8) handed the Trojans (17-6) their first home losses of the season with the 5-1 and 6-1 wins.

In the first game, Lindsey Wilson scored three runs in the top sixth to break a 1-1 tie en route to the 5-1 win.

Lindsey Wilson freshman Alexis Rodgers helped the Blue Raiders get on the scoreboard first with a leadoff triple in third inning. Rodgers scored one batter later on a ground out by sophomore Meagan Huckaby to give LWC the 1-0 lead.

After Trevecca Nazarene tied the game at 1-1 in the fourth, Lindsey Wilson scored three times in the sixth to take the 4-1 lead.

Sophomore Caren Alexander plated the first Blue Raider run of the inning sacrificing freshman Jordan Gilliand home for the 2-1 lead. Rodgers added her second hit of the game and first run batted in with an infield single to give Lindsey Wilson a 3-1 lead.

Rodgers scores on an error

Two batters later Rodgers scored on an error off the bat of junior Anyibell Ramirez to give the Blue Raiders a three-run lead. Lindsey Wilson added an insurance run in the top of the seventh for the 5-1 win.

Ramirez and junior Morgan Paschall combined to limit the Trevecca Nazarene offense to just one run on six hits.

Ramirez allowed one run on three hits while striking out four Trojan batters over her 3-1/3 innings of work. Paschall picked up the win in relief with 3-2/3 scoreless innings. She allowed three hits while striking out three.

Offensively, Paschall finished with three hits while Rodgers and Huckaby added two hits and a RBI each.

In the nightcap, Lindsey Wilson scored three times in each in the second and fourth innings to win 6-1.

Lindsey Bridges gets her first home run of season

Sophomore Lindsey Bridges provided the big bat in the second game with two hits and four RBIs.

Bridges drove home her first run in the second inning with a single to give Lindsey Wilson a 1-0 lead.

Trevecca Nazarene aided in the Blue Raiders' next two runs. TNU starting pitcher Riley Mashburn uncorked a wild pitch to plate Gilliand and two batters later an error led to junior Kristen Spear scoring to give Lindsey Wilson a 3-0 lead.

Following a Trevecca run in the third, Bridges connected on her first home run of the season with a three-run shot to give the Blue Raiders the 6-1 lead and ultimately the win.

Paschall allowed the one Trevecca run on four hits over her three innings of work. Ramirez closed the door the final four innings allowing just one hit while striking out six.

Rodgers and Huckaby joined Bridges with a pair of hits in the game.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 5pmCT on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, as the Blue Raiders host Midway (KY) College at Lindsey Wilson Park, 820 Hanley LN, Columbia, KY
