Obituary: Ellen Willis, 81, Columbia, KY

She was a member of the Antioch United Methodist Church. She was a member of a large respected Adair Co. family. She leaves 45 direct living descendants.

Ellen Willis, 81, Columbia, KY, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at 4:30pmCT, at Metcalfe Health Care Center, Edmonton, KY.

The funeral service will be Thursday, March 25, 2010, at 12 noon CT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Mike Moon the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Milltown Cemetery, 3190 Milltown Church RD, Columbia, KY, in the Milltown Community of Adair Co. Visitation will be after 4pmCT, Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at the funeral home.



Ellen DePorter Willis, Adair Co., KY (1929-2010)

Ellen DePorter Willis was the daughter of the late Langdon and Mattie Robbins Deporter. She was born Friday, March 8, 1929, and died Monday, March 22, 2010, in Edmonton, Metcalfe Co., KY, at the age of 81 years, and 14 days.

She was a member of Antioch United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Willis, on July 23, 1997.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four sons: Terry, Leslie, Bobby, and Lloyd Willis, all of Columbia, KY

  • Four daughters: Judy Utley, Harriman, TN; Betty Pickett, Knob Lick, KY; Esther Rogers and Mattie Burton, both of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers : Glen DePorter of Alabama, and Elden DePorter, Knoxville, TN

  • Seventeen grandchildren
  • BR>
  • Twenty great grandchildren
Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
