A poem: Come for a Walk with my Dog

I know ColumbiaMagazine readers have a love of dogs. My friend Pam sent me this poem about her dog whom she lost about a year ago.- Robert H. Stone

It follows, along with a photograph:

Come for a Walk with my Dog
by Pam Hadjisavalos

Pam Hadjisavalos with Jack

Such a beautiful day.
Time for our morning walk.

Sometimes it feels like I am walking a big fuzzy caterpillar.
We slowly cover each blade of grass and waiver down the sidewalk.

Then I'm walking a tiny rhinoceros,
Bent on charging forward.

When all of a sudden my little rhino becomes a hopping
Kangaroo, leaping at flying bugs.

Then a loving little lamb,
Standing so still while children pet his head.

On the way home,
There's a detective walking ahead of me - sniffing for clues,
Following every trail.

Till almost at home,
There's my little dog again.
Ready for breakfast.
