Obituary: Jannie Cape, 83, Taylor Co., KY

She was formerly of Adair Co., KY. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Bridgeview, IL. She was the widow of husbands Luther Ray Willis and Will E. Cape. She had retired after a career at National Can Co., in Chicago, IL. The funeral and burial will be in Illinois, with local visitation today, March 21, 2010, in Columbia, KY, from 5pm to 7pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.

Jannie Cape age 83 years of 895 Burdick School RD, Campbellsville, KY, formerly of Adair County passed away Friday, March 19, 2010 at 8:39amCT at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

The funeral service will be Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at 11:00 A. M. at the Lawn Funeral Home, 7909 State RD, Burbank, IL, with Pastor Bill Clark officiating. Interment in Chapel Hill Gardens Cemetery in Oak Lawn, IL. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pmCT today, Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY.



Jannie Cape, 83, formerly of Adair Co., KY (1926-2010)

She was the daughter of the late Tannie Parvin and Zetta Edna Lawhorn Hoover. She was born on Friday, April 9, 1926, and died Friday, March 19, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY, at the age of 83 years, 11 months, and 10 days.

She was the widow of Luther Ray Willis who preceded her in death in 1972.

She later married Will E. Cape who also preceded her in death 2004.

She was preceded in death by one son, Donald Ray Willis, on November 22, 1974.

Surviving are the following:
  • Two granddaughters: Donna Harris and Kelli Willis Wyrick of Decatur, TN

  • Two sisters: Zela Bennett of Columbia, KY, and Lora Bennett of Campbellsville, KY.

  • One brother: Leonard Hoover of Houston, TX

  • Four great grandchildren: Kacey age 16, Dakota age 14, Margaret age 8 and, Kyle Donald Ray age 4

  • And several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridgeview, IL and was retired after a career at Nation Can Co. in Chicago, IL.
