News reminder: Please send Easter events now
Easter is now just a few days away, falling on April 4, 2010 this year. If your organization is having a special please send it to ColumbiaMagazine.com using any of the Contact/Submit buttons on the site.
The event will be posted with the most extensive package of free publicity available in South Central Kentucky.
We're including a few notes below for those who may not be familiar with our process for handling news items, which also applies to events submissions:
Please include the answers to the 5W's and an H, as in this checklist:
Glory singers at First Church, Sun., Feb. 28, 2010Events submissions submitted as flyers are considered ads. Events submissions submitted in formats other than those submitted in full sentence, paragraph form, using ColumbiaMagazine.com format and sequence, may be considered advertising. For quickest posts, please send all information in one email and include contact information. If additional information is asked for, please include in one new email with all information. Please send in caps and lower case. All caps submissions may be returned. Please remember that while ColumbiaMagazine.com offers the most comprehensive announcement package, free, of any media, events may be posted only if the venue includes Street No. and Street Name. Directions are not posted. If there is a charge you may be notified that the event is advertising. And, If it is advertising on any media, it is considered advertising on ColumbiaMagazine. Finally, the Events Calendar is made possible through our advertisers and sponsors. We appreciate it when readers tell advertisers that they appreciate their support of ColumbiaMagazine.com.
Some general guidelines for what's free, what's not
It's a free ColumbiaMagazine.com service, but to allow us to continue and improve the service, we need special help from those submitting the material.Free events notices are posted only
Free events notices are posted from emails specifically to ColumbiaMagazine.com, written specifically for this site.
Free events notices should be sent in one email, with accompanying photos as jpg attachments, in the same email.
Free events notices should be sent in news form, in complete sentences, using ColumbiaMagazine.com's format, style, spellings and abbreviations, and sequence. If you are unsure, give us a call.
Free events notices are posted with the name of the person submitting the announcement.
Just a note: The posting of an event on ColumbiaMagazine.com involves an extraordinary amount of time. Making changes to the posts (it's a complicated process) is even more difficult. Your help to make it right the first time, in one email, is appreciated, and necessary for the service to continue. Please remember to always give us context by sending complete information concerning changes in one email responding using a contact button with the item needing a correction.
Paid advertising is welcome
Receipt of any FAX, or flyer or poster by FAX, email, or USPS postal service is considered a request for a paid advertisement. We'll contact you before posting, to let you know the amount.
If it reads like an ad, it's an ad. If it reads like news, it's news.
A reminder, If it's paid elsewhere, it's paid (commercial) on ColumbiaMagazine.com
