Letter: On Craycraft; Edith, KY mystery; why Youngs Mill was built

About: Richard Richard Robertson sends information on Craycraft, KY

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Thanks to Mr. Richard Robertson for the awesome picture of the Murrell House in Craycraft, and also for the information on where Craycraft is.

I wonder how it ever got that name?

Makes me think of crawfish!!

Also, Erwin H. Lepiarczyk II has great information on the history of the neck of the woods I was raised in.

Now, where is Edith?? Edith was also mentioned in some of the 1900 articles.

I have no earthly where that is - but once again, I have heard it mentioned time and again.

I never wrote and told you why the Young's Mill came into existence. I was hoping Wanda Beard would do that. Story was, that a prominent family in town had a daughter who was to be married - but there was no flour for a cake, so her Father built the mill, to produce flour for her wedding cake.Honest! I can find that name, may take a while.

Thanks. Wonderful story on Young's Mill. As for Edith: By rights, Spout Springs might have an Edith, KY address. Tommy Giles is the resident Adair County authority on the town on Elkhorn RD, right near KY 206. Hope someone will find and share a photo.-CM
