By Chris Megginson, CU Sports Information Director

Campbellsville University's Whitney Ballinger added two more records to her list of honors this week. The 6-foot-3 junior center from Carrollton, KY, was named the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Women's Basketball National Player of the Week on Tuesday for a record sixth time this season.

Monday, Ballinger was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Week for a record ninth time this season and 11th of her career.

Ballinger averaged 23 points and 12 rebounds on the week while helping Campbellsville to a pair of wins and to the Mid-South Conference regular season title.

She unloaded a career-high four 3-pointers in the final regular season game Saturday at West Virginia Tech.

During the week, she also averaged 4.5 blocks and 2.5 steals while shooting 60 percent (15-pf-25) from the field, including 66.7 percent (4-of-6) from beyond the three-point arc.

Ballinger leads the NAIA this season with 19 double-doubles. She finished the regular season averaging 21.5 points -- fourth best in the NAIA -- and 11.6 rebounds -- second best in the nation.

Campbellsville improved to 29-1 overall and 14-0 in the conference with its two wins last week. The Lady Tigers have won 22 consecutive games.

No. 5-ranked Campbellsville Women's Basketball team opens the Mid-South Conference Tournament at 10amET/9amCT on Thursday, March 4, 2010 against West Virginia Tech at the Frankfort Convention Center, 408 Mero ST, Frankfort, KY.
