Both LW Basketball teams have beaten 1st round MSC Opponents By Chris Wells, LWC Sports Information Director COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College mens and womens basketball teams concluded regular season play on Saturday afternoon and immediately set their sights on the Mid-South Conference Tournament which begins Thursday, March 4, 2010, in Frankfort, KY. The Blue Raider women earned the fourth seed in the eight-team tournament and faces No. 5-seed University of Rio Grande (Ohio) at 11amCT on Thursday, March 4, 2010, at the Frankfort Convention Center, 408 Mero ST, Frankfort, KY. Lindsey Wilson and Rio Grande split during the regular season with each team winning at home. The winner of the rubber match faces the winner of top-seeded Campbellsville (KY) University and eighth-seeded West Virginia University Tech on Saturday in the tournaments semifinals. The womens championship game is scheduled for 5pmCT on Saturday, March 6. The Lindsey Wilson men - the tournaments sixth-seed - faces No. 3-seed and defending MSC Tournament champion University of the Cumberlands (KY) at 5pmCT on Friday, March 5, 2010 The teams split a pair of regular season games. Lindsey Wilson won at home 76-73 but lost 79-74 in overtime in Williamsburg. The winner advances to play the winner of No. 2-seed Georgetown (KY) College and No. 7-seed West Virginia Tech on Saturday. The finals are set for 1pmCT on Sunday, March 7, 2010.
