Rhodes lifts Lindsey Wilson Baseball over Iowa Wesleyan 9-6 Blue Raiders face Iowa Wesleyan at noon today at Lindsey Wilson Park By Dan White, LWC Assistant Sports Information Director COLUMBIA, KY - Trailing 5-4 in the bottom of the sixth inning, third baseman Max Rhodes belted a double to the center-field wall, bringing in a pair of runs to help the Lindsey Wilson College baseball team record a 9-6 win against Iowa Wesleyan College on Saturday, February 27, 2010, at Lindsey Wilson Park. Rhodes finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored, while shortstop Drew Barrett went 2-for-3 with two runs, an RBI and a walk. Derek Cape picked up the win for Lindsey Wilson after entering in the third inning for starter Lance Rose who had given up six runs on 10 hits. Cape closed the game pitching 3.2 innings of scoreless baseball, while giving up just three hits and striking out five batters. Iowa Wesleyan scored in the first four innings of the game before being shut out by Cape down the stretch. Lindsey Wilson started strong with a three-run first inning, before adding one run in both the second and fourth. Despite the Blue Raiders trailing in hits 13-10 and committing three errors, they were able to pull out the win with hot hitting in the bottom of the sixth. The Blue Raiders game against Asbury (KY) College was cancelled due to rain today and will be made up at a later date.
