LW sweeps Cumberland U. with stellar pitching Paschall, Ramirez combine for 27 strikeouts in two wins at Lebanon, TN By Dan White, Asst. LWC Sports Information Director LEBANON, TN - Cumberland (TN) University produced just seven hits through two games as Anyibell Ramirez and Morgan Paschall combined for 27 strikeouts to give the Lindsey Wilson College softball team a pair of wins on Saturday at the CU Softball Field. The Blue Raiders won the first game 4-0 with Ramirez pitching and took the second 7-0 behind the arm of Paschall. Ramirez also led Lindsey Wilson at the plate, going 5-for-7 with two RBI, four runs and a double. In game one, Ramirez produced three of the team's four runs with 2 RBI and one run scored after a 2-for-3 performance at the plate. Second baseman Jordan Gilland also tallied a double, going 1-for-4 with a RBI. Ramirez pitched a complete game, allowing just three hits and walking two while facing 24 batters. Catcher Ally Goniea had the hot bat in game two, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with 3 RBI. Ramirez scored three runs on a 3-for-4 effort, while shortstop Jamie Williams went 2-for-4 with three runs and a RBI. The Blue Raiders connected for nine hits while Cumberland tallied just four. No Lindsey Wilson hit went for more than a single in game two. Paschall also threw a complete game, walking just one batter out of 24 faced.
