Obituary: Carlos Wesley, 67, Liberty, KY

Mr. Wesley was a member of a prominent Casey Co., KY family. He was a giant of South Central Kentucky broadcasting. He was owner and operator of radio station WKDO AM & FM in Liberty, KY for 42 years

Carlos Wesley, 67, Liberty, KY, died Friday, February 26, 2010, at his home in Liberty, KY.

The service will be at 11amET/10amCT, Monday, March 1, 2010, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Clifton Cowen and Bro. Johnny Maupin the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Rich Hill Cemetery in Casey Co., KY. Visitation will be from 6pmET/5pmCT to 9pmET/8pmCT, Sunday, February 28, 2010, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Lewis Grider, Charles Price, ronnie Joe Wesley, Nicholis Turner, Derrick Wesley, and Kendell Price.

Carlos Wesley, Casey Co., KY (1942-2010)

Carlos Wesley was the son of the late James Preston Wesley and Vasca Patterson Wesley. He was born in Casey Co., KY, on Tuesday, September 29, 1942 and died in Liberty, Casey Co. KY on Friday, February 26, 2010, at the age of 67 years, 4 months, and 28 days.

Mr. Wesley was the owner and operator of WKDO FM & AM Radio Station, Liberty, KY, for 42 years.

He is survived by his wife, Beverly Buis Wesley, Liberty, KY, and the following:
  • Son: Ricky C. Wesley, Liberty, KY

  • Daughter: Carla Turner, Liberty, KY

  • One step-son: Brandon Mills, Liberty, KY

  • Three grandchildren

  • A step grandchild

  • Two brothers: Kirby Wesley, Campbellsville, KY; and Melvin Wesley, Lancaster, KY

  • And a sister: Charleen James of Indiana
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Henry Paul Wesley and Randy Lee Wesley; and two sisters, Betty Sue Wesley and June Rodgers.

McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, 752 Campbellsville ST, Liberty, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
