Obituary: Chester Clayton Sneed, 63, Columbia, KY

Mr. Sneed was a member of a large, respected Western Adair Co., KY family. He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was retired after many years of service at Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School

Chester Clayton Sneed, 63, Columbia, KY, died Friday, February 26, 2010, at 7:11pmCT, at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, KY.

The funeral service for Chester Clayton Sneed, 63, wll be Monday, March 1, 2010, at 11amCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. James Walker the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Jones Chapel Cemetery, 2700 Jones Chapel RD, Columbia, KY, near the Gradyville Community of Adair Co., KY. Visitation will be at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, after 5pmCT, Sunday, February 28, 2010.



Chester Clayton Sneed, Adair Co., KY (1946-2010)

Chester Clayton Sneed was the son of the late William Arthur and Lula Mae Montgomery Sneed. He was born November 17, 1946, and died Friday, February 26, 2010, in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., KY at the age of 63 years, 3 months, and 9 days.

He is survived by his wife, Mae Tucker Sneed, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Two sons: Neal Sneed, and Gerald and his wife Donna Sneed, all of Columbia, KY

  • One brother: James L. "Cotton" Sneed, Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Lucille Baker, Columbia, KY

  • Two grandchildren: Jacob Dwayne and Joseph Tyler Sneed

  • Two step-grandchildren: Jessica Morgan and Amanda Furkins
Mr. Sneed was retired from the Adair County School system, where he worked at Col. Wm. Casey Elementary School for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
