He was a member of a large, respected Adair Co., KY family. He was a member of the Kentucky National Guard Reserve and was a carpenter by trade

Gary Scott, 46, Columbia, KY, died Thursday, February 25, 2010, at 10:34amCT at Hardin Memorial Hospital, Elizabethtown, KY.

The Funeral service will be Sunday, February 28, 2010, at 2pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson officiating. Burial will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY.

Visitation will be after 5pmCT, Saturday, February 27, 2010.

Gary Scott, Adair Co., KY (1963-2010)

Gary Scott was the son of the late Timmy Scott. He was born Sunday, June 22, 1963, and died Thursday, February 25, 2010, in Elizabethtown, Hardin Co., KY at the age of 46 years, 8 months, and 2 days.

He was a member of the National Guard Reserve and was a carpenter by trade.

He is survived by his wife, Riva Matney Scott, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • His mother and step-father: Lucy Smith Scott Yarberry and Orby Yarberry, Columbia, KY

  • One step-son: Michael Matney, Bowling Green, KY

  • Five brothers: Jimmy Scott, Fairdale, KY; and Ronnie Scott, Tommy Scott, L.T. Scott, and Tony Scott, all of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Hilda McQueary, Columbia, KY

  • And many other relatives and friends
