Leah Hayes, Greensburg, KY, is CU Valentine Pageant Queen Click headline for full story, photo By Maggie Argenbright Campbellsville University story Leah Hayes, of Greensburg, Ky., was crowned the 2010 Campbellsville University Valentine Queen recently in CU's annual pageant. She also won the talent award for singing. Her escort was Matthew Schmuck from Campbellsville. Hayes, who represented Social Workers in Touch Can Help (SWITCH), will go on to represent Campbellsville University and compete in the 2010 Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival in May in Pineville, KY. First runner-up and the poise award went to Jesslyn Long, representing the sophomore class from Stanford, KY. She was escorted by Jordan Kelsey of Stanford. Second runner-up and the interview awardwent to Megan Massey, representing University Chorale from Science Hill, KY. She was escorted by Trevor Ervin from Glasgow, KY. Miss Congeniality, voted on by the competing women, was awarded to Amelia Rosenberger, representing Sigma Zeta from White Mills, KY. She was escorted by Daniel Wiechart of Danville, KY. Best escort was awarded to Andre Tomaz who escorted Hannah Boyd, representing Baptist Campus Ministries. Tomaz is from Brazil and Boyd is from Simpsonville, KY. The other competing women were: Whitney Frields representing Village RA's from Henderson, KY, escorted by Jeremy Mathis from Cincinnati, Ohio; Tiffany Cockerell representing Sigma Nu Pi from Louisville, Ky., escorted by Stephen Zelch from Louisville, KY;Alena Maggard from Somerset, representing Student Government Association, escorted by Darryn Litton of Somerset; Ashley Holt from Bloomfield, KY., representing Campus Times, escorted by Jonathan Buchanan of Greensburg, KY and Jennifer Lilly from Grayson, KY, representing Omicron Delta Kappa, escorted by James Dean of Williamsburg, Ky. SGA president Christina Miller of Danville, KY, who was in charge of organizing the pageant said, "I thought it was a great success and I was happy to see Leah win! She deserved it."
