Obituary: Wayne Byrd, 78, Casey Co., KY

Mr. Byrd was a retired maintenance man and a farmer. He was a member of the large family of the late John Henry and Betty Harris Byrd which included five brothers and one sister, four of whom survive.

Wayne Byrd, 78, Liberty, KY, died at his residence on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.

The graveside funeral service for Wayne Byrd will be at 2pmET/1pmCT, Saturday, February 27, 2010, at South Fork Cemetery in Casey County, KY. Visitation will be from 6pmET/5pmCT to 9pmET/8pmCT, Friday, February 26, 2010, at Bartle Funeral Home, 142 KY 49, Liberty, KY.



Wayne Byrd, Casey Co., KY (1931-2010)

Wayne Byrd was the son of the late John Henry Byrd and Betty Harris Byrd. He was born Thursday, April 30, 1931, in Casey Co., KY, and died Wednesday, February 24, 2010, in Liberty, Casey Co., KY, at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 25 days.

He was a retired maintenance man and a farmer.He is survived by his wife, Ernie Lou Sharp Byrd, and the following:
  • Two daughters: Karen Ann Byrd and Betty Marie Rodgers, both of Liberty, KY

  • One son: Huell Byrd, Liberty, KY

  • Six grandchildren

  • One great grandchild

  • Two step grandchildren

  • One sister: Hester Goode, Liberty, KY

  • Three brothers: Russell, Artis, and Ernest Byrd, all of Liberty, KY
He was preceded in death by one step great grandchild and two brothers, Chester and Arnold Byrd.

Bartle Funeral Home, Liberty, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
