Springfield resident identified as plane crash victim About: KSP reports one fatality in Marion Co. plane crash Kentucky State Police at Post 15, Columbia, KY, have identified the sole occupant of a Piper 28 airplane which crashed near Springfield, KY, yesterday. COLUMBIA, KY - The lone occupant has been identified as Kent Douglas Shilling, 40, of Springfield, KY. The cause of death will be determined at an autopsy scheduled for Wednesday morning at the State Medical Examiner's office in Louisville.
