C-AC Chamber committees set for 2010

New chairs and co-charis include Donna Stotts/Lee Ann Collins, Billy Rowe, Benton Fudge, Amy Thompson/Doug McCammish, Darrell Treece/Brady Button, Patricia Harper, Stephen Keen, Richard Phelps, and Roger Meadows/Sheila Hare

Leaders for the nine major committees of the Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce have been appointed for 2010 by President Ron Heath.

They are as follows:


  • Ambassadors Committee: Donna Stotts/Lee Ann Collins, co-chairs. The Ambassadors Committee has responsibility to welcome, encourage, and support new businesses to the community.

  • Agriculture Committee: Billy Rowe, chair. The Agriculture Committee has responsibility to work with farmers in the area to address issues of concern.

  • Beautification Committee: Benton Fudge, chair. The Beautification Committee is concerned with making Columbia and Adair County as attractive as possible to current residents, tourists, and potential new businesses and residents.

  • Communications Committee: Amy Thompson/Doug McCammish, co-chairs. The Communications Committee is charged with promoting programs and activities of the Chamber of Commerce, as well as the City of Columbia and Adair County through various media.

  • Education Committee:Darrell Treece/Brady Button, co-chairs. The Education Committee has responsibility to look for ways to involve the Chamber of Commerce and its members in the education of students in the public schools and at Lindsey Wilson College.

  • Health Committee: Patricia Harper, chair. The Health Committee is concerned with making sure residents of Columbia and Adair County are aware of health and medical issues that may impact their lives.

  • Membership Committee: Stephen Keen, chair, The Membership Committee conducts the annual membership drive to encourage businesses, organizations, and individuals to join the Chamber.

  • Roadside Park Committee:Richard Phelps, chair. The Roadside Park Committee has responsibility to maintain and improve the roadside park in Columbia so it is attractive to visitors and residents.

  • Special Events Committee: Roger Meadows/Sheila Hare, co-chairs. The Special Events Committee plans and carries out many of the programs planned each year by the Chamber. These include Christmas in Columbia, Treats on the Town, the Ronald McDonald House drive, the annual Chamber Golf Outing, and various seminars and workshops.
