Three Metcalfe Co. men arrested in death of 4th in Edmonton, KY

Police charge Nicholas Hill, 25, with manslaughter, and Nathaniel Fears, 20, and Alex Cassidy with complicity to manslaughter following death of Moore

The Kentucky State Police are investigating the death of 39-year-old James Moore of Edmonton. Post 15 received the call from the Metcalfe County dispatch on Tuesday, February 16, 2010, at 3:11pmCT . Glasgow 911 Center had received a call from someone who stated that there was a body in the residence at 110 High Street in Edmonton. Glasgow then contacted Metcalfe County dispatch to inform them of the complaint. At 2:53pmCT, Police, Fire and EMS personnel had been dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival they found the body of James Moore; Coroner Larry Wilson requested KSP respond.



The subsequent investigation revealed that James Moore had been involved in a verbal argument which escalated into a physical altercation that investigators believed led to his death. On Tuesday evening at 11:15pmCT and 11:30pmCT 20-year-old Nathaniel Fears and 20-year-old Alex Cassady, both of Edmonton, KY were charged with Complicity to Manslaughter. This morning at 12:26amCT, 25-year-old Nicholas Hill was arrested and charged with Manslaughter 1st degree. All three men were lodged in the Barren County Jail, Glasgow, KY.

An autopsy was performed today at the State Medical Examiner's office in Louisville. The preliminary results indicate that James Moore died of multiple injuries from an assault. Detective Mike Dubree is investigating and was assisted by the Edmonton Police Department, Metcalfe County Fire and EMS and Sheriff Rondal Shirley.

Three charged in manslaughter case in Edmonton, KY



2010-02-17 - Photo Kentucky State Police. Nicholas Hill, center, above, has been charged with manslaughter, and Alex Cassady, left,and Nathaniel Fears, right, have been charged with complicity to manslaughter. Fears and Cassady were arrested late last night, February 16, 2010, and Hill was arrested shortly after midnight this morning, February 17, 2010. All were arrested and lodged in the Barren County Jail.
