Barbara Armitage asks help on ID for Adair duck

Click on headline for story plus photo: Remember to scroll past the Count Cardinal, the Adair Co. GBBC 2010 mascot, to see photo of the mystery duck

By Barbara Armitage, President
Adair County Garden Club

Leave it to me to toss the wrench into Columbia's well greased GBBC machine. So far we have identified 17,145 birds without a hitch.

Then I take this photo. Here's what I know about this bird. It's a duck.

What we may have here is a totally new species.

I'm keeping the location of the "duck" a secret for now. I don't want anyone getting the idea that it might look good stuffed - up on their fireplace mantel.

Wendy Burt says that she is totally flummoxed! If any of CM's readers know what kind of "duck" this is I'd appreciate their help. -Barbara Armitage, From the Farm, Tucker's Station, 1535 Bull Run RD, Columbia, KY
