Obituary: Ida Marie (Jones) Calhoun, 92, Taylor Co., KY

She was a follower of Christ and a long time member of the South Campbellsville Baptist Church

Ida Marie (Jones) Calhoun, age 92, of Campbellsville, died Thursday, February 11, 2010, at Taylor Regional Hospital after an illness.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2pmET/1pmCT, Sunday, February 14, 2010, at the Lyon DeWitt Funeral Home, 503 East Main ST, Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Jim Jones officiating and burial to follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8pmET/4-7pmCT at the funeral home.



Ida Marie (Jones) Calhoun, Taylor Co., KY (1917-2010)

She was born on April 16, 1917 to Wiley and Martha Edmondson Jones in the Stoner Creek area of Taylor County and died Thursday, February 11, 2010, in Campbellsville, Taylor Co., KY at the age of 92 years, 9 months, and 26 days.

For many years she lived at Country View Court, Campbellsville, KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John Calhoun on October 25, 1970, one son Jerry Tilden Calhoun,one son-in-law, Ransel Campbell, one brother Jesse Jones, two sisters, Ada Frankel and Hettie Stahl, two grandchildren Laura Knifley and Kevin Campbell.

She was a follower of Christ and a long time member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters and son-in-law: Pat Campbell of Lenexa, KS, and Monnie and Jimmie Knifley of Campbellsville, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Stacy Zoller of Kansas, Chris Campbell of Virginia, Lyric Cohea of Ohio, and Bart Knifley of Ohio

  • Ten great-grandchildren

  • One sister: Mabel Dones of New Mexico

  • And one half-brother, Johnnie Stephenson of Campbellsville, KY.
