Obituary: Sadie Price Devore, Edmonton, KY

Sadie Price Devore was a member of a respected Metcalfe Co., KY family and of Hickory College Church of Christ. She was a former owner of the old Corner Restaurant in Edmonton, KY

Sadie Price Devore, age 75, of Edmonton, KY, died Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Metcalfe Health Care in Edmonton.

The funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY with burial in the Metcalfe County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:30pm to 8pmCT, Tuesday, February 2, 2010, and after 9amCT, Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at the funeral home.


She was the daughter of the late John and Laura Jobe. She, along with her late husband, Virgil Junior Devore, were former owners of the old Corner Restaurant in Edmonton, KY

She was a member of the Hickory College Church of Christ.She is survived by the following:
  • Three sons: Gary, Darryl and Kevin Devore, all of Edmonton, KY

  • Three daughters: Debbie Joyce of Chicago, IL; Beckie Brakins, of Illinois and Diane Blakeman, of Glasgow, KY

  • One brother: Stanley Jobe of Edmonton, KY

  • Four sisters: Daisy Welsh of Summer Shade, KY; Beddie Smith of Edmonton, KY; Evie Judd, Ohio; and Winnie Moore of Illinois

  • Eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren
Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one sister, Millie Wilson.

Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST., Edmonton, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
