Election, 2010:
Wid Harris is candidate for Adair County Judge Executive

By Willam "Wid" Harris, candidate for Adair County Judge Executive

I am William "Wid" Harris, and I am running for Adair County Judge Executive. My wife is Sharon Harris, who has worked for the Department of Social Insurance in Adair County for 25 years. I have three children, Kim, Dwain, and Brandon, and four grandchildren.

Why do I want to serve you as county judge and why do I think I can do a good job in this position?

I have 28 years experience on the fiscal court, working with four county judges.

I served as chairman of the board of Taylor Co. RECC for 15 years, served on the East Kentucky Power board for 15 years, and while there served as chairman of the Power Planning and Major Projects committee and Fuel Procurement Committee. At that time East Kentucky Power supplied 89 of our 120 counties with their rural electric power.

During this time I maintained my connections and concerns with Adair County citizens by being a barber, farmer and livestock dealer for many years.

Adair County has been good to me and my family for many years. Now I feel it is time that I give back to Adair County by doing you the very best job that I possibly can through honesty and hard work as your county judge.

Thank you.

s/Wid Harris
