Adair sixth graders are State Runner-Up By Amy Melton The Adair County Sixth Grade basketball team traveled to the Kentucky Basketball Academy in Lexington, KY, on January 22-24, 2010, to compete in the Sixth Grade State Tournament. The team captured the Runner-Up Title, being defeated only in the final game. On Friday night, Adair faced East Jessamine and was victorious with a score of 38 to 21. Adair came back on Saturday to defeat Foley by a score of 40 to 33 and Beaumont , 48 to 30. On Sunday, Adair advanced to the Elite Eight and started the day by beating McNabb 40 to 26. Adair then battled with Elkhorn Co. in the Final Four by pulling out a close one 29 to 27. The final match up was against Kammerer, a team from Louisville. Adair gave it their all but came up short with a score of 46 to 37. While there, the Adair players met two former University of Kentucky players, Richie Farmer and Jared Prickett. Team members are Kel Stotts, Chance Melton, Daniel Grant, Miller Young, Dylan Feese, Jordan Lasley, Corey Melton, Cameron Lasley, Jacob Pooler, Will Myers, Shea Martin, Lonnie Grant, Trevor Willis and Coach Greg Lundy.
