LWC Men's Basketball falls to No. 14 Campbellsville 57-38

COLUMBIA, KY - Caleb Harris scored 18 points and T.J. Bishop and Nestor Colmenares each added 10 for 14th ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) University as the Tigers topped Lindsey Wilson (KY) College 57-38 on Thursday, January 21, 2010, at Biggers Sports Center.

Eric McPherson paced the Blue Raiders with 13 points and six rebounds, while Andrija Tintor added 10 points off the bench.




It was a back-and-forth first half that ended in a 21-21 tie. Six points was the largest deficit for Lindsey Wilson, while there were three ties in the half.

The Blue Raiders shot 33.3 percent from the field in the first half, while Campbellsville hit 38.1 percent of its shots. Both teams struggled from the free-throw line as Lindsey Wilson went 6-for-11 and the Tigers hit 2-of-6.

The tight score came to a close as Campbellsville burst out on a 11-2 run after the break.

Lindsey Wilson climbed within three points (36-33) with just over eight minutes to play, but found itself 14 points down with three to go after a 14-3 run by the Tigers.

Campbellsville hit three shots from behind the arc to extend its lead during the run, while the Blue Raiders never cut into the deficit on its way to the 19-point loss.

Lindsey Wilson was edged on the boards 33-27, but did commit fewer turnovers (12-14).

The Blue Raider finished the game shooting 31.1 percent from the field, compared to 48.8 percent for Campbellsville.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2pmCT on Saturday, January. 23, 2010 against University of the Cumberlands (KY) at Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard DR, Columbia, KY.
