Ralph James Compton, Breeding, KY (1924-2010)

Mr. Compton was a member of a respected Adair Co., KY, family. He was a member of Coral Hill Baptist Church and was a retired farmer

Ralph James Compton, 85, Independence Ridge Road, Breeding, Adair Co., KY passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 19, 2010at his home.

The funeral service will be Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY with Rev. Ray Woodie and John Botts officiating. Interment in the Leatherwood Cemetery, 2005 Leatherwood Church RD, in the Nell Community of Adair Co. Kentucky. Visitation is after 3pmCT on Friday, January 22, 2010 at the funeral home.



Ralph James Compton, Breeding Community, Adair Co., KY (1924-2010)

He was the son of the late James Robert and Josie Coomer Compton of Adair Co. He was born in the Leatherwood Community of Adair Co., KY, on Thursday, July 3, 1924 and died in Breeding, Adair Co., KY on Tuesday, January 19, 2010, at the age of 85 years, six months, and 16 days.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Smith Compton on March 4, 2009. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Gilley; a brother, Ruel Compton, and two infant siblings.He is survived by the following:
  • Two sisters: Martha Lacy of Breeding, KY; Marcella Wagner of Glasgow, KY

  • Two brothers: Bee Compton of Glasgow, KY; and Billy Compton of Louisville, KY

  • And by several nieces and nephews and friends.
Mr. Compton was a member of the Coral Hill Baptist Church, Glasgow, KY, and was a retired farmer.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
