Deer, overcorrection contribute to KY 76 injury accident By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY Trooper John Barnett investigated a collision that occurred at 5:57pmCT, Saturday, January 16, on KY Hwy 76, approximately 10 miles east of Columbia, KY. Stacy Thomas, 16 years old, of Russell Springs, KY reported that she was southbound on KY Hwy 76 in a 2008 Chevrolet when a deer entered the roadway. Thomas overcorrected, ran off the roadway and struck an earth embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn. Thomas was belted and was transported by personal vehicle to the Russell County Hospital where she was treated and released.
