Obituary: Tena Marie Paxton, 55 Green Co. native

She was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was retired after 30 years as a nurse with Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY

Miss Tena Marie Paxton, Louisville, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, KY. She was 54 years, 3 months and 8 days of age.

The funeral services for Miss Tena Marie Paxton will be conducted at 10amCT, Monday, January 18, 2010, at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Greensburg Cemetery. Bro. Charlie Paxton and Bro. Bob Cunningham will be officiating. Burial will be in the Greensburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8pmCT, Sunday, January 17, 2010, at the funeral home and after 7amCT, Monday, January 18, 2010, also at the funeral home.



Pallbearers are Sean Curry, Derek Curry, Mike Nusbaun, Michael Nusbaun, Daniel Nusbaun, Flash Williams, and Leon Lewis

Miss Tena Marie Paxton, 54, Green Co. native (1955-2010)

Miss Tena Marie Paxton, Louisville, KY, was the daughter of the late Calvin Booker Paxton and Jean Marshall Hodges Paxton. She was born on Wednesday, October 5, 1955 in Green Co., KY, and departed this life on Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at the Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was 54 years, 3 months and 8 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She worked for 30 years with Baptist East Hospital as a Registered Nurse before retiring in 2008.

Survivors include the following:
  • A sister: Kathy Paxton Dewees, Lexington, KY

  • A nephew: Joe Dewees and his wife Linda of Nicholasville, KY

  • A niece: Abby Dewees, Lexington, KY

  • Two aunts and two uncles: Ray and Margie Whitlock and Joe Tommy and Barbara Hodges all of Green Co., KY

  • And a host of cousins, other relatives and many friends
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Greensburg Cumberland Presbyterian Church, which can be made at the funeral home.The Cowherd & Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Main ST, Greensburg, KY, is in charge of arrangements.
